Vowing to do away with political correctness in the military, Donald Trump promised to increase military spending as he denounced the efforts of the Obama Administration against the Islamic State, arguing that Hillary Clinton would just represent more of the same, if elected.

Trump started his event in Herndon, Virginia by pledging a full review of U.S. cyber security efforts in government are stepped up to another level.

“Hillary Clinton’s only experience in cyber security involves her criminal scheme to violate federal law,” as Trump mocked her use of a private email server during her time as Secretary of State.

Trump took questions from a series of retired military officers, echoing their assertions that the Army is too small, and that the U.S. has not done enough to target Islamic terror groups like ISIS.

“Honestly, we have a President in my opinion who really doesn’t know what he’s doing,” Trump said in his Q&A, as some of the retired service members also bitterly questioned the strategy of the Obama Administration.

“We’re running a war by politicians and we’re running a war by political correctness,” Trump added, as his opinion of the current effort against the Islamic State was more than echoed by those in attendance.

“Who else should I be listening to, but the people in this room?” Trump said to applause.

While Trump has talked up budget cuts in other areas of the government, he made clear that will not be the case for the Pentagon under at Trump Administration.

“The strength of our military and the strengthening of our military is a number one priority for the Trump Administration,” the GOP nominee said, arguing the U.S. military is “depleted.”
